The statue of Forward in front of the State Capitol, Madison, Wisconsin. The statue is adorned by a pink pussy hat in commemoration of the Women's March, Jan 21, 2017. I didn't realize till I saw the photo that there was a tiny hand on her finger. Unfortunately during the Black Lives Matter demonstrations of 2020 this state was taken down.

I am a nature and landscape photographer based in Madison, WI, with images from around the world. I am originally from Australia, but have lived in New Brunswick, Canada, and Socorro, New Mexico, before moving to Madison. I am trained as a geologist, and still teach introductory geology classes (need to pay the bills somehow).. The love of the outdoors has strongly influenced my photography, initially in Australia, but then in the the NW Territories of Canada (I was there doing geology), and the desert of New Mexico.
