Weathered grooves in bedrock, from erosion created by the Cleddau River near Milford Sound in Fiordland National Park on the South Island of New Zealand produce an abstract image. The Cleddau River plunges into a narrow gorge; these grooves form just where the river starts to downcut into the chasm.

I am a nature and landscape photographer based in Madison, WI, with images from around the world. I am originally from Australia, but have lived in New Brunswick, Canada, and Socorro, New Mexico, before moving to Madison. I am trained as a geologist, and still teach introductory geology classes (need to pay the bills somehow).. The love of the outdoors has strongly influenced my photography, initially in Australia, but then in the the NW Territories of Canada (I was there doing geology), and the desert of New Mexico.
