The "Red Gym" or University Of Wisconsin Armory and Gymnasium was build on the campus in 1894 and resembles a red castle. It was fire-bombed in 1970 by ant-war protestors, and is now a national historic landmark.

I am a nature and landscape photographer based in Madison, WI, with images from around the world. I am originally from Australia, but have lived in New Brunswick, Canada, and Socorro, New Mexico, before moving to Madison. I am trained as a geologist, and still teach introductory geology classes (need to pay the bills somehow).. The love of the outdoors has strongly influenced my photography, initially in Australia, but then in the the NW Territories of Canada (I was there doing geology), and the desert of New Mexico. Now I find the beauty around where I live in Madison. If you live in the Madison area, contact me, and I can print images for you (save on postage).
