Camp Randall was a training facility for the Union Army during the Civil War. This memorial arch was erected in 1912. Captured confederate troops were also held at Camp Randall. This photo is also available as a black and white image.

I am a nature and landscape photographer based in Madison, WI, with images from around the world. I am originally from Australia, but have lived in New Brunswick, Canada, and Socorro, New Mexico, before moving to Madison. I am trained as a geologist, but have now retired from teaching introductory geology classes. The love of the outdoors has strongly influenced my photography, initially in Australia, but then in the the NW Territories of Canada (I was there doing geology), and the desert of New Mexico.
