Description
Snow Falls is an approximately 25 foot series of cascades where the the Little Androscoggin River cuts through a narrow gorge between West Paris and south Paris in central Maine. Here we are looking downstream from the bridge which crosses Snow Falls. Snow Falls is named after Captain Snow, a hunter and trapper, who was killed by Native Americans near this site in 1762. A number of mills, the ruins of which can be seen on the west side of the river, have made use of the falls over the years.
