Artist's Description
Kites on Ice was a kite flying festival on the frozen Lake Mendota in Madison, Wisconsin. Unfortunately this festival is no longer being held. It, however did provide a spectacle on those short winter days.
About Steven Ralser
I am a nature and landscape photographer based in Madison, WI, with images from around the world. I am originally from Australia, but have lived in New Brunswick, Canada, and Socorro, New Mexico, before moving to Madison. I am trained as a geologist, but have now retired from teaching introductory geology classes. The love of the outdoors has strongly influenced my photography, initially in Australia, but then in the the NW Territories of Canada (I was there doing geology), and the desert of New Mexico.
