The Mural is a canvas painting by Edwin Howland Blashfield titled "Resources of Wisconsin" The central women is known as "Wisconsin" and is holding a sheaf of wheat - symbolizing agriculture in the state. She is actually 13 feet tall.

I am a nature and landscape photographer based in Madison, WI, with images from around the world. I am originally from Australia, but have lived in New Brunswick, Canada, and Socorro, New Mexico, before moving to Madison. I am trained as a geologist, and still teach introductory geology classes (need to pay the bills somehow).. The love of the outdoors has strongly influenced my photography, initially in Australia, but then in the the NW Territories of Canada (I was there doing geology), and the desert of New Mexico.
