Science Hall was one of 3 instructional facilities at UW when it was completed in 1888. It is built in a Romanesque Revival motif. Science courses taught in the building help make UW Madison one of the leading geology schools in the country. Science Hall was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1993. This photo is also available as a black and white image.

I am a nature and landscape photographer based in Madison, WI, with images from around the world. I am originally from Australia, but have lived in New Brunswick, Canada, and Socorro, New Mexico, before moving to Madison. I am trained as a geologist, and still teach introductory geology classes (need to pay the bills somehow).. The love of the outdoors has strongly influenced my photography, initially in Australia, but then in the the NW Territories of Canada (I was there doing geology), and the desert of New Mexico.
