Many years ago (pre digital) we had the opportunity to go to Mt Hay, an isolated mountain to the northwest of Alice Springs in central Australia. We went to study the granulite rocks which make up the mountain. Just before we got there they had significant winter rain 9which is unusual in this desert environment). As such the creeks were flowing and the wild flowers were in bloom.
I am a nature and landscape photographer based in Madison, WI, with images from around the world. I am originally from Australia, but have lived in New Brunswick, Canada, and Socorro, New Mexico, before moving to Madison. I am trained as a geologist, and still teach introductory geology classes (need to pay the bills somehow).. The love of the outdoors has strongly influenced my photography, initially in Australia, but then in the the NW Territories of Canada (I was there doing geology), and the desert of New Mexico.
